Contrary to its name, Straight Line Designs is anything but ordinary, and rarely do any of its pieces fall into said category. Not content to make suburban furniture with expected lines, patterns and textures, designer Judson Beaumont and his team in Vancouver, British Columbia defy convention with their eye-opening, tongue-in-cheek creations, from a bench that looks like a tin can being pried open to a chest of drawers carved to look like a little black dress. Beaumont doesn’t just walk the line when he brings a concept to life; he pushes the envelope to the extreme and produces stunning conversation pieces as a result.
